Im Juni 2001 wurde das Wiener Museumsquartier, nach Plänen von O&O Baukunst errichtet, eröffnet.
Heute ist das Museumsquartier nicht mehr aus dem Stadtleben der österreichischen Bundeshauptstadt wegzudenken. Zu entdecken gibt es an diesem Ort unter anderem bildende und darstellende Kunst, Architektur, Musik, Mode, Tanz, Literatur und Kunst für Kinder. Erst 2020 wurde das Angebot um die MQ Libelle ergänzt: ein ebenfalls von O&O
Baukunst erdachtes Baukunstwerk. Die Libelle dient als Kulturfläche und Aussichtsplattform.
Der Errichtung des MQ und dessen Etablierung, ging ein jahrelanges Politikum voraus. Der erste Architekturwettbewerb, auf ein Konzept Dieter Bogner und Dietmar Steiner aufbauend, wurde bereits 1986 ausgeschrieben.

Good day!
The Vienna Museumsquartier, built according to plans by O&O Baukunst, was opened in June 2001.
Today, it is impossible to imagine city life in the Austrian capital without the Museumsquartier. Among other things, you can discover visual and performing arts, architecture, music, fashion, dance, literature and art for children at this location. The MQ Libelle was only added to the offer in 2020: a work of architectural art also conceived by O&O Baukunst. The Libelle serves as a cultural area and viewing platform.
The construction of the MQ and its establishment was preceded by years of political wrangling. The first architectural competition, based on a concept by Dieter Bogner and Dietmar Steiner, was announced back in 1986.
